Weather Hotlines

Weather Hotlines

We all know Colorado weather can be a bit crazy!  We will do our best to make the best weather calls for everybody. We try to do our best to give everyone the most amount of notice possible.

Please visit www.sportsmonster.net for updates in the ALERT section directly below the main menu. If games are cancelled, an alert will be posted on the website (pictured on the left). If no alert is on the website, games are still planned as scheduled.

DENVER PARKS & RECREATION - At certain times, the City of Denver will shut down the fields for varying reasons despite weather conditions we would normally play in. These decisions are out of our control and we must abide by the Parks & Recreation Department decision. DPR weather hotline for field closures is (720)-865-6978. Field closures due to inclement weather will be available by 2:00PM on weekdays; 7:30AM on weekends.

CITIZENS PARK - Citizens Park is owned and controlled by the City of Edgewater. The City of Edgewater does not have a weather hotline.

DICK'S SPORTING GOODS PARK - We must follow their field crews calls for weather and abide by their decisions. See DSGP weather policy here - In the event that lightning is detected within 8 miles* by the Skyguard weather monitoring system that our 24hr security department monitors, the weather siren will be sounded. This means that all fields are closed and must be evacuated until it has been determined that the threat has passed. The threat will be determined to have passed when 20mins has gone by since the last strike within 8 miles has occurred. Before the all clear has sounded, DSGP staff will review the field conditions and determine if they are safe to play. If they are safe to play and the weather has passed, the weather siren will be sounded with an "All Clear," message.

Please note as well that if the threat has passed; but the weather monitoring system indicates that another threat is close behind, DSGP staff may opt to extend the suspension period in preparation for another delay.
*Note as well that 8 miles is our standard marker for closing fields should a threat come within that distance. There may be times where that marker is updated depending on the volume of participants on site, speed of threat, direction of threat, etc.
Referees, league organizers, etc are also welcome to evacuate their own fields if they would like a marker that is at a greater distance than what DSGP uses; however, all guests need to evacuate the fields when DSGP sounds the horn.
If complex alarm is not working, DSGP staff come around with air horns. 1 long blast signifies that fields are closed for a weather threat. DSGP complex hotline can also be called at 303.727.3333.

Also be aware, if we do rain out a game we will make up that week later in the season. If we have more than 2 rain outs during the season, we will do our best to make those games up, but cannot guarantee more than 2 made up rain outs.
