Mile High Sluggers are the Team to Beat
It was a modern day miracle! Denver Parks and Rec was able to find us a field with working lights! The season was looking pretty dim there.

RANDOM HOOKUPS played their first game of the season, defeating P4B 14-2 to become (1-0).

P4B had a double header, so they then took on JR ENGINEERING. It was a pretty close contest, but P4B ended up winning the game-improving to (1-2). JRE dropped to (0-2).

MILE HIGH SLUGGERS came out slugging. They put up 17 runs to take care of HITS AND HOPS. These two teams are definitely the early favorites. The SLUGGERS improve to (2-0) and HH drops to (1-1).

RANDOM HOOKUPS then played the green machine-HITS & HOPS. They took care of them as well, winning 10-9 in one of the closest games of the season.

HITS & HOPS rebounded from the loss with a drubbing of the PITCHES, 40S, AND BLUNTS.

Mile High Sluggers On Top
In the first game of the night, it was RANDOM HOOKUPS taking down JR ENGINEERING. After the win RH had a three game winning streak, but it would be snapped the next game. HITS & HOPS, still bitter from their loss last week, defeated RH with a close score of 14-13. The win has brought H&H back into that first place area.

In the last game it was the MILE HIGH SLUGGERS running up the score on PITCHES, 40S, AND BLUNTS.

Mile High Sluggers Win Regular Season
It was the last night of the regular season. In the first game, MILE HIGH SLUGGERS stayed on their winning ways. They won their second game in a row and took the number one seed with a (6-2) record. They only gave up 52 runs on the year, the difference maker between the other teams. JR ENGINEERING took the loss and fell to (1-6).

In the second game, it was RANDOM HOOKUPS defeating JR ENGINEERING. They improved to (5-2) with the victory. JR ENGINEERING ended up with a (1-7) record but were still able to take the 4th seed.

RANDOM HOOKUPS then took on PITCHES, 40S, AND BLUNTS. With still a possibility of getting the number one seed, RH didn’t hold back. They dominated the game and improved to (6-2). They weren’t able to catch MHS in the standings.

PITCHES, 40S, AND BLUNTS then took on HITS & HOPS. H&H also came into the game with a 5-2 record. They were really going to have to pull out a blowout in order to catch MHS. They did win via mercy rule, but it wasn’t enough to take the top spot. They slipped into second place. P4B, dropped to last place with the loss. They will take on JR ENGINEERING next week to start off the playoffs.

Mile High Sluggers win Championship
RANDOM HOOKUPS took down the HITS AND HOPS in the semi-final game. It was a close game, but the men-laden HOOKUPS took the win. HITS AND HOPS were short on some players too, which didn’t help their efforts.

The RANDOM HOOKUPS advanced to the championship to take on the number one see, the MILE HIGH SLUGGERS. HOOKUPS scored four runs in the top of the first, but the SLUGGERS didn’t waste any time and scored five to take the lead. After the fourth inning, the SLUGGERS led 13-5 and it looked like it was going to be a runaway. The HOOKUPS battled back and scored six runs in the top of the fifth to make it 13-11. Going into the last inning, the HOOKUPS needed four runs to keep their hopes alive. The strung some hits together and tied the game up at 15. In the bottom of the sixth, the SLUGGERS first three batters got hits, resulting in a walk-off victory.

Hurry up and register for the Zombie Kickball Tournament on October 25, 2015 at Barnum Park. There will be prizes for the best costumes as well as a pig roast at the Classic Tavern after the game.
