Two Close Games
The standings are split after two weeks. Two teams are (2-0) and two teams are (0-2). But that doesn’t mean there’s much separation between the four teams. In the first game on Wednesday, Renee led all scoring with 14 points to lead her team to the ten point victory. Everything Hurt’s star Ashley, kept them in the game with her 12 points. But it wouldn’t be enough.

In the second game, the Pumas were considerably better than their first week game. They would drop behind by 10 points, but would stay in it with some long range shooting. In the end, they couldn’t close the 10 point gap-losing by six.

Top Teams Tie!
The Pumas picked up some free agents for their game and looked like an entirely different team. The Pumas hit five threes on their way to a 13 point victory. It was their first win of the season. Everything Hurts drops to (0-3) on the year.

In the second game, both undefeated teams went at it. Marie Peel led all scores, dropping in 17 points for the Jaguars. It looked like they were going to take the game, but the Leopards played tough defense for the last five minutes. They were able to come back from eight points to tie it up. They failed to score on their last possession, so the game ended in a tie. (Sports Monster does not have overtime during the regular season.) Both teams are now (2-0-1).

Jaguars in First
It was a repeat of games from last week. The top teams, the Jaguars and the Leopards, were at it again. This time, the Jaguars were not going to lose. Every time the Leopards came back, the Jaguars took off again. In the last couple minutes of the game, the Jags hit some quick shots to get up by seven points. The Leopards could not come back from that. The Jags now have sole position of first place.

In the second game, Everything Hurts played their hearts out, but couldn’t stop the Pumas 3-point shooting. The Pumas finished the game with five 3-pointers. The Pumas ended up winning by seven points and improving to (2-2). Everything Hurts drop to (0-4).

Everything Hurts Loses Close One
The Jaguars were able to keep their undefeated season intact. All four teams are pretty equal. A lot more equal than what the standings say. Everything Hurts, the cellar dwellers, gave everything they had against the Jaguars, but the Jags were still able to pull out the three point victory. That would have been a great boost to start the second half of the season.

In the other game, the Leopards took on the new faced Pumas. The Pumas have a very different lineup roster than the last time these two teams faced. It was another intense battle. But in the end, it was the Leopards getting the seven point victory. The Leopards improve to (3-1-1) and the Pumas drop to (2-3).

Leopards Win Big
Jaguars (5-0-1) defeated the Pumas (2-4) by seven points. The Pumas are right there in the mix, but they keep falling to the top teams. Everything Hurts (0-6) must have been missing some key players. They lost badly to the Leopards (4-1-1).

Next week is the last week of the regular season. If Everything Hurts can defeat the Jaguars, then there’s a good chance that the Leopards will take the top seed heading into the playoffs.

Jaguars Win Regular Season
Familiar foes were back at it last night. In the first game, Everything Hurts had to pick up some new players to try and turn things around. But the Pumas were ready for them. The Pumas had the lead for most of the game, but late in the second half Hurts got on a roll and brought the game to within 12 points. But the Pumas turned it on after that and cruised through with the victory.

In the second game, the top two teams faced off in another physical battle. Both teams played good hard defense to keep the score at 15-15 after the first half. The second half scoring picked up. The Leopards took a four point lead with six minutes left, that’s when the Jaguars woke up. They hit some big three pointers to take a six point lead, and would finally win by eight points. They will be the top team heading into the playoffs next week.

PLAYOFFS View Bracket
Jaguars Win Championship
The semifinals didn’t amount to much drama. Top seeded Jaguars defeated Everything Hurts by 30 points, implementing the mercy rule. And on the other side of the bracket, the three seeded Pumas upset the second seeded Leopards also by 30 points.

So with both of the teams playing shortened games, it had the makings of a nail biter. The Jaguars got off to an early lead and didn’t really relinquish it. The Pumas had to play catch-up for most of the game, and they still weren’t able to catch them in the waning minutes. Without any hoopla fouling at the end, the Pumas accepted defeat and took the silver. The Jaguars finished the season without losing a game.

The Spring season starts next week, so register as soon as possible!
