Summer 15 Sunday Coed Recreational Softball @ Veterans Park

Sunday, June 21

Hard Ball Whackers forfeited to Blew Balls.
Summer time!
Its Hot, Hot, Hot!!
And time for softball! Green fields and high skies! Its a game of natural elements: dirt, grass, wood and leather! Integrated with time and spacial relativity!

In the opener it was Amanda and the Mile Hi Sluggers (league champs from the spring season) vs Pop n LocNess Monsters.
The Mile high sluggers would win the game by a big margin. It looks like they’ll be in the hunt again.

In the second game, the CEREAL KILLERZ dominated the BLEW BALLS. They have been waiting a whole month for this league to start, and boy were they ready? They showed great play on the offensive and defensive side. They won easily by fifteen.

The HARD BALL WHACKERS didn’t show up, so the BLEW BALLS received one win for the day.

In the last game of the day, defense was not very popular. Both teams had no trouble scoring. The game was close and was called due to time. The MONSTER BALLARS ended up on top over SOFAKINGGOOD 19-16.

The MONSTER BALLERS and the CEREAL KILLERZ had a high scoring showdown. It came down to the wire, but in the end the MONSTER BALLERS were able to pull it off 18-17. The win has put the MONSTER BALLERS at (2-0) and the loss has dropped the KILLERZ to (1-1).

In the second game, the HARD BALL WHACKERS made their debut with a 14-7 win over the BLEW BALLS. HBW didn’t show up to their game last week, so they received the loss last week. This win has made them (1-1). The BLEW BALLS dropped to (1-2) on the season.

The HARD BALL WHACKERS had a double dip, taking on POP AND LOCHNESS MONSTERS for their second game. HBW stayed on their winning ways with a 14-7 victory. With the win, they moved to (2-1) on the season, and PLM dropped to (0-2) on the young season.

In the last game, SOFAKINGGOOD dominated the MILE HIGH SLUGGERS 17-8. The win has put them at (1-1) in fourth place. The loss moved MHS to (1-1) in fifth place.

Forth of July Weekend!
Hooray! for the read, wight and blew!
Well, it was another day of softball.
Most leagues across town took this one off, but not Sunday Sports Monsters at Veterans Park. Due to this years' unique weather, SM at Veterans Park had to play. There are only so many days in a year, and unless everybody is good with finishing the summer season in December... well you get the point.
Some Monsters had monster holiday hang-overs going. One in particular, who will remain anonymous, (The Big J) struck out swinging TWICE!
The big J, one of my favorite ball players, is a very unassuming person, who, at first glance does not seem to be the imposing force on the diamond he is; but the Big J is just the ball-player that every winning coach wants on his team.
He is a solid hitter, takes the pitch to all fields with power, runs with the best, has a strong arm, plays defense very well. Plus, he is never one to leave the dishes stacked, if there are ducks on the pond, well, they don't have to call home, because he's takin' em home. Well, next week anyway; because last Sunday they had to find a ride.

Cereal Killerz Makes a Statement
Two of the best teams started against each other on Sunday. It was the CEREAL KILLERZ taking down the HARDBALL WHACKERS in a one run game. It was the first loss to the WHACKERS that didn’t involve a forfeit. CEREAL improves to (3-1) on the season.

The WHACKERS would avenge their loss with a 23-3 drubbing over SOFAKINGGOOD. With the win, the WACKERS are now (4-2). SOFAKINGGOOD drops to (1-3).

The MONSTER BALLARS and the MILE HIGH SLUGGERS had a pretty competitive game. In the end, it was the BALLARS winning the game. The BALLARS are now (3-1) and are right in the mix with the best teams. The SLUGGERS even their record up at (2-2).

In the last game, it was the POP AND LOCHNESS MONSTERS winning big over the BLEW BALLS. P&L was due; this was their first win of the season. BLEW BALLS drops to (2-4) on the year.

Cereal Killerz Taking Over
The CEREAL KILLERZ took care of SOFAKINGGOOD. It wasn’t much of a game as the KILLERZ poured on the runs. The KILLERZ won by double digits and improved to (4-1) on the season and are relaxing in first place. SOFAKINGGOOD drops to (1-4) on the year.

The CEREAL KILLERZ had a double header so they were right back at it. This time their hands were full as they took on the MILE HIGH SLUGGERS. This game was a nail biter throughout, but the KILLERZ proved to be too much and won 5-4. They are now (5-1). The MILE HIGH SLUGGERS are in the middle of the pack with a (2-3) record.

The MONSTER BALLERS didn’t hold anything back against POP AND LOCHNESS MONSTERS. The BALLERS are one of the premier teams in the league and they sure showed it Sunday. They won 18-2 and improved to (4-1). POP AND LOCHNESS are at the bottom at (1-4).

Cereal Killerz Finish Regular Season on Top
It was the last week of the regular season. The MILE HIGH SLUGGERS evened their record up, by outslugging the HARDBALL WHACKERS. The HARDBALL WHACKERS have had a pretty good year so far, but they didn’t have it against the SLUGGERS. Both teams finished third and fourth, so they’ll be on different sides of the bracket.

SOFAKINGGOOD ended their regular season on a high note, winning their second game of the year and taking the 5th seed. They defeated POP AND LOCHNESS MONSTERS. The MONSTERS finished at the bottom of the standings.

The MONSTER BALLERS took care of the BLEW BALLS with a double-digit win. They finished the year at (5-1) and in second place. The BLEW BALLS finished at (2-5) and are seeded 6th. Playoffs start next week!
