Blue Steel is Back
It was a beautiful evening to start the season. In the first game, WHERE MY PITCHES AT? was missing some players, so they only had three outfielders. This really hindered them, because the BENCHWARMERS took full advantage of the missing fielder. Most of the balls hit to the outfield were not caught, due to the huge open real estate. The BENCHWARMERS would win their opener 12-5.

The BA-KAWKS and the DENVER BOMBERS played a pretty good defensive game. Only ten runs were scored between the two teams. Nobody could get a good enough lead that they could hold. This game went down as a tie at 5-5.

The STICKS AND CHICKS came out swinging. They put up eight runs in the first inning, due to bad defense by the GLADSTONERS. The GLADSTONERS couldn’t get many runs across the plate to make this game close. Their defense did improve but it was much too little. The S&C would win this one 14-4.

The last game of the night was pretty exciting. BLUE STEEL, the defending champions from the spring league, scored four runs in the first and the second inning to make an 8-0 lead after three innings. In the fourth inning, the DANKEES scored three to make it 8-3. BS was scoreless in their half. In the fifth inning, the DANKEES got on a roll and scored five more to tie the game up at 8-8. In the bottom half of the inning, BLUE STEEL hit a line drive to the outfield that went to the wall. The relay wasn’t fast enough so the player scored with a walk off in the park homerun to end the game 9-8.

Where my PItches? Wins First Game
WHERE MY PITCHES AT came to play. They put up seven runs in the first inning. That was enough as the DENVER BOMBERS weren’t able to get more than three runs for the entire game. The win has put PITCHES at (1-1) and smack dab in the middle of the standings. The loss has dropped the BOMBERS to (0-1-1) and in 8th place.

The GLADSTONERS looked like a different team in week two. They were able to score 13 runs in the second inning to take a demanding lead. But in the bottom half of the 2nd, they started to play defense like they did in their first game. Luckily, they got out of the inning with a 14-5 lead. They would tack on six more in the 4th to seal the deal. The win has moved them to third place with a (1-1) record and dropped the BENCHWARMERS to (1-1).

The STICKS & CHICKS looked like the dominant team from week 1, but the DENVER DANKEES gave them a run for their money. Both teams were able to score one run in the first inning. After three inning S&C lead 3-1. The DANKEES were able to score a run in the 4th, but then the wheels fell off in the bottom of the 4th. S&C played ring around the roses and crossed 15 runners in the bottom half to take an 18-2 lead. The DANKEES fought back in the bottom of the 5th but only could score five runs to end the game. The win has put S&C at (2-0), with only two other undefeated teams.

PWC played their season opener. They were an offensively steady team, scoring an average of five runs per inning for the first three innings. The BA-KAWKS were able to hold them scoreless in the 4th in order to get one final shot. Down by five, the BKs were able to get some bats going, but they could only cross two runners. PWC won 15-12 moving to (1-0). The BA-KAWKS dropped to (0-1-1) on the season.

Lightning Halts Games
It was a little late start for the games on Friday. BLUE STEEL was running a little late, so they started the game down by two runs. It didn’t matter for the BA-KAWKS, they put up a lot of runs to win the game 11-2. The KAWKS are now (1-1-1) and BLUE STEEL is (1-1).

WHERE MY PITCHES AT? scored a lot of runs in the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. The STICKS AND CHICKS would battle back to tie it up and eventually win the game 11-10. STICKS AND CHICKS remain undefeated at (3-0). WHERE MY PITCHES AT is now (1-2).

The DENVER BOMBERS scored a lot of runs in the first three innings to take the lead over PWC. PWC got one last at bat in before the lighting came. The lightning was pretty close to the field and the game was delayed. PWC eventually called it a game after it started to rain. The BOMBERS improve to (1-1-1) and PWC drops to (1-1).

After the lightning delay, the BENCHWARMERS took on the DENVER DANKEES. The BENCHWARMERS had a big first inning and took the early lead. The DANKEES battled back and tied it up at 7-7. In the final inning, the BENCHWARMERS outscored the DANKEES 4-3 to take the win. The BENCHWARMERS are now (2-1) and in second place. The DANKEES are (0-3), but they’ll start winning soon.

Where My Pitches At?
Benchwarmers on a Roll!
The field looks pretty even, every team has lost a game! The BENCHWARMERS put up eight runs in the first inning to set the tone of the game. The BOMBERS rallied in the second, to make it close again. But the BENCHWARMERS put the game away after scoring eight runs in the 4th. The BENCHWARMERS are now (3-1) and the BOMBERS are (1-2-1).

BLUE STEEL and the GLADSTONERS took turns taking the lead from each other. No runs were scored in the 4th or 6th innings, so a rare complete 7 inning game was played. BLUE STEEL went into the bottom of the 7th with a 5-4 lead, but the GLADSTONERS got some hits together and walked off with the victory 6-5. The GLADSTONERS are now (2-1) and BLUE STEEL is (1-2).

PWC put the smack down on the DENVER DANKEES. The DANKEES took an early 6-0 lead, but PWC answered with a 16-run 2nd inning. In the end it was a 13-run game. PWC improved to (2-1) and the DANKEES drop to (0-4).

For the nightcap, it was the BA-KAWKS holding off the STICKS & CHICKS. BK scored five runs in the 2nd inning to take the lead. They would add three more runs to make it 8-3. With time running out, it came down to the sixth inning. S&C scored four runs before they got three outs and the game was called 7-8. It was the first loss for S&C to make them (3-1). The BA-KAWKS sit in third place at (2-1-1).

Blue Steel Back in the Win Column
BLUE STEEL stopped their losing slide with a big win over STICKS & CHICKS. Now S&C is on a losing streak, dropping their last two games. BLUE STEEL had a nine run third inning to bust the game open. They followed with a thirteen run 4th inning to put the game away. S&C still holds a half game lead over BLUE STEEL in the standings.

WHERE MY PITCHES AT? came to play. They didn’t hold anything back against PWC. PWC scored seven runs in the 2nd inning to take the lead 7-5. But it was a twelve run fourth inning that won the game for the PITCHES. Both teams are now (2-2).

The DENVER DANKEES were short on players, but they managed to scrounge up players from other teams. They jumped out to a seven run lead and never were contested after that. They ended up getting their first win of the year. The BA-KAWKS dropped to (2-2-1).

In the closest game of the night, it was the GLADSTONERS defeating the BOMBERS. The GLADSTONERS got up 13-7 but the BOMBERS came back. The BOMBERS scored five in the 4th to make it 13-12. They then retired three of the GLADSTONERS in a row to for another inning. In the last inning, the BOMBERS scored two runs to take the lead 14-13. They couldn’t quite hold it, as the GLADSTONERS won the game by scoring two runs in the bottom half-finishing 15-14. GLADSTONERS move to third place at (3-1). The BOMBERS drop to (1-3-1).

Benchwarmers or Gladstoners
Two teams have separated from the pack. The BENCHWARMERS and the GLADSTONERS both won on Friday to improve to (4-1). The BENCHWARMERS defeated STICKS & CHICKS with a ten-run first inning. That was all they needed. S&C scored six in the bottom of the 4th, but that would be it.

The GLADSTONERS beat the BA-KAWKS in a close one. The GLADSTONERS got up 7-0 after four innings. The KAWKS had a four run sixth inning to make it 8-5. The game went the full seven innings, but the BA-KAWKS couldn’t pull off the comeback.

The DENVER BOMBERS got their second win of the season, defeating the hot BLUE STEEL. The BOMBERS were able to cross seven runners in the fourth inning to take an 11-4 lead. BLUE STEEL would get two more runs, but it wouldn’t be enough.

WHERE MY PITCHES at and PWC met for the second time in as many weeks. Last week PITCHES won pretty easily. This time would be different. PITCHES scored a lot of runs each inning. The score was 13-8 going into the bottom of the 4th. PITCHES had numerous opportunities to make some easy outs, but they couldn’t do it. They ended up letting PWC back into the game and ended up losing in walk off fashion. With the win PWC has moved into third place and PITCHES has dropped to seventh.

Gladstoners Regular Season On Top
It was the last night of the regular season. The STICKS AND CHICKS had a nail biter with the DENVER BOMBERS. It came down to the wire, but it was S&C getting the victory. S&C finished the regular season in fourth place. The DENVER BOMBERS finished in 8th place, so they’ll start the tournament with a play-in game.

WHERE MY PITCHES AT? came to play like they always do. They didn’t hold anything back and took down BLUE STEEL. Both teams finished the regular season at (3-4) but PITCHES took the higher seed with a better point differential.

PWC didn’t show up, so they forfeited. It was the first forfeit of the entire season. The BENCHWARMERS took the win and finished the regular season in second place. PWC finished in third.

For the nightcap, it was the GLADSTONERS taking down the DENVER DANKEES. The GLADSTONERS finished their regular season with a six game winning streak. They haven’t lost since their opening game back in June. They will take the first place seed and play the winner of the BOMBERS and the DANKEES next week.
