Scared Hitless Scores A Lot
SCARED HITLESS had an 11 run second inning to blow the doors wide open against BURRITOS IN THE OUTFIELD. After the second inning the score was 16-2, so they decided to take it easy. They hit one home run in the game and ended up winning 19-4. With a tougher strength of schedule, SCARED HITLESS is number one in the standings.

WIN OR LOSE WE BOOZE got up 2-0, but nobody would cross home plate for them again. UGG, THAT BALL would score 12 straight runs to win the game 12-2. They hit one homerun in the contest. They are staying in the hunt with a (3-1) record.

The HOMERS pulled out a close one, 15-13. The game was an evenly matched contest, as both teams are closer to the bottom of the standings.

THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID beat the SLAMMIN SPAMMERS 13-8. The win has given them a (4-1) record, right behind SCARED HITLESS. SLAMMIN SPAMMERS have moved into seventh with the loss.

Scared Hitless isn't Afraid to Hit
Scared Hitless improved on their record, defeating the ICE COLD PITCHERS 18-9. Both teams hit pretty well. The win has improved their record to (5-1) and has put them on top of the standings. ICE COLD on the other hand, has dropped to eighth.

In a relatively low scoring game, the HOMERS beat UHH THAT BALL 8-5. It was somewhat of an upset, because UHH THAT BALL is ranked third, and even with the win, the HOMERS are in sixth. There is only a half game separating third-sixth in the standings.

WIN OR LOSE WE BOOZE pulled out a dozy over the SLAMMIN SPAMMERS. When all was said and done, the score was decided by two runs. Both teams were pretty evenly matched.

For the last game, SCHWASTY BASED and THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID, came into the game with each team having one loss. It was a back and forth game, but THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID started to pull away and won by five. Both teams look to be contenders.

A perfect night.
Play-offs? you wanna talk play-offs?
It was a perfect night for softball; After a very rainy May, it was well over due. Teams were entering the final days before the playoffs begin, I would like totalesome time to mention outstanding players in this league; next week I will submit who I believe to be worthy of mention.ty-Bill.

Final spring regular season games.
It was a fun, but sad night for me. We had some fun games to finish things off; but I am sad at not seeing some nice and fun people any more on Tuesday nights. Hopefully everyone will come back for the summer.

All Stars
A few great players.
There are a number of great players worthy of mention; but I seldom have time to collect names, or to write down their exploits. But I'd like to mention two who I feel were the best in this league. 1. Nate, probably the best all around player in the league. He hit like a heavy weight and has a fine, accurate, strong throwing arm. He knows the game very well and runs like a deer. He was from a team that had most of its fun hating the umpire, as they did not win a game until it didn't matter.

Top Seeds Advance
After a long and wet season, we have finally started the playoffs! In the first game, the BURRITOS IN THE OUTFIELD didn’t show up, so they lost. With the win, the ICE COLD PITCHERS moved into the next game. They took on number one ranked SCARED HITLESS.

SCARED HITLESS continued on their winning ways, defeating the PITCHERS and advancing to the semifinals. In the 4/5 matchup, SCHWASTY BASED defeated the SLAMMIN SPAMMERS to advance to the semifinals. They will take on SCARED HITLESS next week.

On the other side of the bracket, number two ranked THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID, defeated the HOMERS. They advanced to the semifinals and will play the winner of WIN OR LOSE WE BOOZE and UGGH THAT BALL IS NOT SOFT.

That's What She Said Wins Championship
That's What She Said!
WIN OR LOSE WE BOOZE was victorious over THAT BALL IS NOT SOFT in quarterfinal play 8-3. BOOZE had seven innings of great defense; six of those innings SOFT didn’t score a run. The victory moved BOOZE to the semifinal game against THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID.

In the semifinal, THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID came out to play, getting up 10-5 with a few innings left in the game. With their backs against the wall, WIN OR LOSE WE BOOZE rallied and scored five runs to tie it up in the top of the 6th. The celebration wouldn’t last long though. In the bottom of the 6th, TWSS star shortstop doubled to lead off the inning. Two batters later, a single was hit and the winning run came into score. TWSS advanced to the championship.

The other semifinal proved to be one of the most unpredictable upsets I’ve ever seen (taking a page from the venerable broncos playbook). Number four ranked SCHWASTY BASED outlasted number one ranked SCARED HITLESS by one run 16-15. Putting on a remarkable offensive effort, SB led the entire game, scoring in every inning of the game. They still managed to hold off the furious comeback by SCARED HITLESS (who really lived down to their name for the first time this season). SH came up 1 run short after scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning.
SCHWASTY BASED would advance to the championship.

In the final, THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID beat SCHWASTY BASED in another great game 15-11.
In reviewing the game, and with all due respect to power hitting home-run-or-bust Ron, and All Star shortstop Tommy (Pickles) I have to give credit to the quiet and very steady defense of this league’s best left fielder. She played so well on defense that she completely removed that area of the ballpark from the opposing teams’ scoring lexicon: one quiet contact hitting lady: Jaime. My hat is off to her loud bat, and quiet glove. When she plays left, the only thing happening out there is the grass, growing very slowly… What a great season! The Rockies should pay to watch leagues like this one; this is what it’s all about.
