That's What She Set remains Undefeated
The rain showed up, but it wasn’t enough to cancel the double headers. With the wet grass, everybody was moving slower and playing it safe. There were some good slides though. THAT’S WHAT SHE SET was still missing a member, but it didn’t affect them at all. They beat the ROUGH SETS in straight sets. They then took down the SCRUBS in straight sets as well. They are still undefeated (with one tie) at the top of the standings.

The game of the day went to AK47 and the SCRUBS. The SCRUBS put some games together and were able to take two away from AK47. The match goes down as a tie in the standings. AK-47 still sits comfortably in second place and the SCRUBS still need to win a match in order to make some movement in the standings.

AK47 Shot Down
Congratulations to THAT’S WHAT SHE SET for finishing the regular season with the best record. Can they keep it together next week and bring home the hardware? There will be three teams trying to keep that from happening.

In the most competitive match of the year, THAT’S WHAT SHE SET took on AK47. Both teams had their normal rosters. In the first and second game, AK47 was keeping up with TWSS for the first ten points. But then there would be one play that would shift all of the momentum to TWSS. In the third game, AK47 turned the tables and became the team to beat. TWSS made some errors that they usually make. AK47 took full advantage and won the game 16-14. In the final game, both teams went back and forth with some volleys that would last up to a minute. Neither team could get up by two, so it became the first to 17. The last volley was back and forth. AK47 set Agustin for the final kill, but he didn’t hit the ball in the right spot-so it went right into the net to finish the game. It was like a sprite commercial for volleyball. TWSS won game 17-16 and the match 3-1.

The SCRUBS took on the ROUGH SETS for the second game. The ROUGH SETS were a little too good in the first two games, winning pretty easily. But it all changed in game three and four. The SCRUBS became the team to beat and won the third game 15-7. They didn’t slow down a bit in the fourth game, as they won 15-11 to even up the match 2-2.

Next week will be a one day playoff to crown the champions!

That's What She Set Wins Championship
The playoffs were a one day event. The SCRUBS couldn’t round up enough players, so they had to forfeit their first round game against AK47.

In the other semifinal, THAT’S WHAT SHE SET took on the ROUGH SETS. The ROUGH SETS were also missing their normal players, so the communication wasn’t quite there. They lost the first game 21-8. They did improve in the second game, only losing 21-14. THAT’S WHAT SHE SET advanced to the championship.

The championship ended up being the
two best teams in the league. THAT’S WHAT SHE SET hasn’t lost a match the whole season; they’ve only split matches with AK47. AK47 has improved immensely from the beginning of the season. They have given TWSS a good run for their money every game.

In the first game, TWSS took off and got an 8-4 lead. AK47’S captain, Agustin, gave a quick rallying speech to get his team alive. It worked; AK47 scored the next 5 points to take the lead. The game went back and forth until AK47 couldn’t keep up, they lost 21-19.

In the second game, TWSS got an early lead as well, but then AK47 came back again! It definitely looked like AK47 would take this match. They lead throughout the teens, and even got up 19-16. TWSS showed no sign of worry, they played calm and managed to come back and tie it up at 21. The cap score would be to 25 and with both teams trading points, this game was sure to go there. Tied at 24 a piece, the last volley was pretty short. The serve was returned, and then Agustin, who played a very impressive game, had a mishit into the net to end it 25-24.

Congratulations to THAT’S WHAT SHE SET for winning the championship.
