Fall 2015 Wednesday Men's Intermediate Basketball @ DU

LOS POLLOS HERMANOS rebounded well after their first week forfeit. They were able to beat AGAINST ALL ODDS to even up their record. It was AAO’s first game of the season. They are now (0-1) on the season.

AGAINST ALL ODDS had to play a double-header. They pulled the short straw, having to play the SILLY NANNIES for the 2nd game of the night. But they did pretty well. They only lost by eleven points, which is pretty good-all things considered.

The GO BUFFS improved to (2-0) with their dominant win over the MATZAH BALLERS. Ian was player of the game. MATZAH has dropped to (1-1) on the season.

FOE got their second win of the season, defeating the CARMELO APPLES by thirty points. FOE improves to (2-0) and the APPLES drop to (0-2). There’s still plenty of season the turn things around.

The Duke led THE FAMILY to a ten point victory over MORON MOUNTAIN. Both teams came into the game winless, but now only one remains.

The FAMILY took down CARMELO APPLES for their third straight victory. Jake H led the way and helped his team for the fifteen point victory. CARMELO APPLES drop to (0-3-1).

In the second game, the FAMILY returned for their second game of the night. They beat the MATZAH BALLERS by a lot and improved to (4-1). They are now in first place. The MATZAH BALLERS drop to (1-3).

Mark Mareno led the GO BUFFS to a dominating victory over AGAINST ALL ODDS. They are keeping pace with the FAMILY with a (3-1) record. AGAINST ALL ODDS is (0-4).

FOE took down the dominant SILLY NANNIES. The SILLY NANNIES hadn’t lost a game in two seasons. Henry G led the way and helped his team pull out the 8 point victory. FOE is now (3-0) and is a definite contender. The SILLY NANNIES are (3-1) and dropped to fourth place.

Carmelo Apples took on Moron Mountain to start the basketball night off. Nick M led the way for the Morons and helped his team beat the Apples. The thirteen point victory put them about the .500 mark. The Apples are now in seventh place with a (1-4-1) record.

Moron Mountain had to play a double header. Their next opponent was against the very tough FOE. FOE gave the Silly Nannies their only loss two weeks ago, so my money was on FOE. But Moron Mountain had other plans. They took down FOE by seventeen points and went to (4-2). FOE drops to (3-2).

MVP Marcus was back at it with his Go Buffs Team. They lost last week but bounced back this week with an impressive win over Los Pollos Hermanos. Even with the loss and a (1-3-1) record, LPH is still in sixth place. Go Buffs are now in third place with a (4-2) record.

For the last game, it was Against All Odds defeating the Matzah Ballers by thirty points. This was a very important game, as both teams are at the bottom of the standings and only 8 teams advance to the playoffs. The win has put Odds at eighth place and Matzah at ninth. Next week will be really exciting as they both take on FOE. For Matzah to make the playoff they will have to win and Odds will have to lose, because the point differential is too large for Matzah to overcome.

The first round of the playoffs are in the books, and man were they exciting! The number one seed, The Family, did not have a walk-through with the eight seeded Against All Odds. AAO kept the game close and only lost by nine points.

Number five seed Go Buffs upset number four FOE. It was an extremely close game, but Marcus P led the way for the Buffs and helped ice FOE with a three point victory. Go Buffs will take on The Family next week in the first semifinal. In week 1, Go Buffs took care of the Family pretty easily. But since that game, The Family has not lost.

The other side of the bracket was like the other side of the moon-unpredictable! Number seven Los Pollos Hermanos upset the defending champs, the Silly Nannies, by three points. Mike was the Player of the Game.

In the last game, number six Carmelo Apples upset number three Moron Mountain by nine points. Justin A was the Player of the Game. In the regular season, Los Pollos Hermanos and the Carmelo Apples tied 33-33. It should be a good semifinal.
