Fall 2015 Thursday Men's Competitive Basketball @ DU

First game of the season ended up in a boring tie! BALDIN’ ON A BUDGET and BLAKING BAD went down to the wire, but nobody could pull out the win. Jake W got the player of the game honors.

In the second game, MEAN MACHINE took down JURRASIC 5 in a good game. Diego was player of the game, leading his team to victory.

The MEAN MACHINE had a double-header, and it was again Diego to the rescue. In an even closer game, the MACHINE pulled out the one point victory to improve to (2-0) and take the top of the standings spot.

The struggling BLAKING BAD had to take on the number one team, MEAN MACHINE. Despite the difference in records, BLAKING BAD gave them everything they could handle. The game was never really decided until the waning seconds. MEAN MACHINE took the victory by four points and improved to (3-0-1) on the year.

BLAKING BAD had to pull its double header. They took on JURASSIC 5. This was also a close game and ended the same was. BB lost by four points. BLAKING BAD is still winless at (0-3-1). Despite being (0-3), they’ve only lost by a cumulative of 14 points. JURASSIC 5 improves to (2-1) on the year.
The closest game of the night was the last one!

BALDIN’ ON A BUDGET and USA DENVER went at it like nobody’s business. It finally came down to the final possessions. USA DENVER ended up winning the game by a basket and improving to (2-2). BOAB dropped to (0-1-2).

JURASSIC 5 ate up BALDIN’ ON A BUDGET. It was only a seven point game at the end of the buzzer, but the win put JURASSIC 5 at the top of the standings. BALDIN ON A BUDGET dropped to fourth place at (0-3-2).

USA DENVER didn’t show up for the second straight week, so they forfeited to BALDIN’ ON A BUDGET. It was BUDGET’S first win of the season.

For the last game, BLAKING BAD gave the MEAN MACHINE their first loss of the season. Aaron F was the player of the game-leading his team to the Promised Land. It was BLAKING BAD’S first win of the season, they’re now (1-4-1). MEAN MACHINE sits in second place at (4-1-1).

The Competitive League came to a close on Thursday. With some last minute changes, the semifinals and the finals were played. In the first semifinal game, the number four seed BALDIN ON A BUDGET upset the top ranked JURASSIC 5. The game was tight throughout, but it was Swaggy P leading his team to the two point victory.

On the other side of the bracket, the MEAN MACHINE defeated BLAKING BAD in another good game. With only five players, BLAKING BAD had their hands full. They played a tough game throughout, but in the end the MEAN MACHINE pulled away. BB just couldn’t hold up.

The MEAN MACHINE then took on BALDIN ON A BUGET for the championship. The younger squad wasn’t that tired from their previous game. They wasted little time taking care of business. The game was close for the first three quarters, but the MACHINE pulled away in the 4th. Tony was the Championship MVP, helping the MACHINE win by fifteen.
