Fall 2015 Monday Coed Floor Hockey at Denver University

After a short break, floor hockey is back on! In the first game of the season it was NO REGRETZKIES edging out the STONCECUTTERS. The STONECUTTERS are back after taking the summer off.

In the second contest, it was the returning champs, EAT A BIG BREAKFAST, defeating the GERI HAT TRACKS 6-2. There’s a lot of season left!

It was a fierce night of floor hockey. In the first game, it was the GERI HAT TRICKS pulling out the victory over the STONECUTTERS in a one goal game. The STONECUTTERS came into the game with a one game advantage in the standings. But, with the GHT win, both teams are now (1-2).

The DIE-HARDS got their first real action. They played a tough game, but came up short against the heavily favored NO REGRETSKIES. NR improves to (3-0) on the year.

The DIE-HARDS then had to play EAT A BIG BREAKFAST. BREAKFAST hasn’t lost a game in a long time. They were able to score a goal, but ended up losing 8-1. BREAKFAST improves to (2-0).

GERI HAT TRICKS pulled out the one goal victory over the STONECUTTERS. The STONECUTTERS have had a pretty rough season with only one win. GHT improves to (3-3) on the season.

In the second game, the DIE HARDS gave it everything they had against the defending champs. EAT A BIG BREAKFAST would win the game by a large margin to improve to (4-0).

NO REGRETZKIES had a bye week, the other (4-0) team.

Hurry up and register for the Zombie Kickball Tournament on October 25, 2015 at Barnum Park. There will be prizes for the best costumes as well as a pig roast at the Classic Tavern after the game.

The regular season ended on Monday. In the first game, The Stonecutters took care of the Die-Hards. The Die-Hards did not play like themselves. A lot of the fans thought the game would have been closer than 9 goals. The loss puts them at (0-7) on the year and will seed them in fifth place. The Stonecutters finish at (2-6) and are ranked fourth. These two teams will face off next week for the first game of the playoffs.

Eat a Big Breakfast started their double header while the Stonecutters were finishing theirs. Breakfast didn’t waste any time. They built an early lead and kept it, winning by nine goals. They were still undefeated heading into their last game.

Breakfast then took on the undefeated No Regretzkies. The schedule wasn’t in Breafast’s favor as they had to play the best team in the second game of their double-header. But they were up for the challenge. These two teams have a long history against each other. The game was a good battle and ended how all even teams end-in a tie! The 3-3 tie puts both teams at (6-0-1). But since Breakfast had the better point differential, they took the first place seed.

Playoffs will start next week!

Eat a Big Breakfast won the championship for the second season in a row! It was their closest game of the season. They took on the very hot Geri Hat Tricks. Earlier in the season when these two teams played, Breakfast won 7-1. This game was a lot different. Breakfast still got out to an early lead, but GHT kept up with them. In the end, Breakfast would hold them off for the 7-5 victory.
