First week of the league!
The night started out with the first game being played between the Ballers and the One and Doner's. The competition was close in the first half as there was only a 4 point difference in scores. The Ballers were up slightly at the half, but were able to extend this lead in the second half to a 54-25 victory. The next game was played between the Toon Squad and the Freedom Fighters. The Freedom Fighters were able to start out strong and maintained a steady 10 point lead in the first half. However, the Toon Squad kept fighting and tied it up at 39 all with 15 minutes left. After grasping this tie, the Toon Squad's excellent 3 point shooting pushed them to a 63-52 win. The final competition of the night was between the VADS and Force Majeure. Both teams liked to run and push the ball, so the game was played at a high tempo. Force Majeure was ahead by 12 at the half and was able to keep this lead for a 67-53 win.

The league started out with three strong games and we look forward to the future competition!

7/10 games
This week kicked off with another great 3 games! First up were the VADS against the One and Doner's. The VADS decided to play a zone for the game and this decision worked in their advantage as the zone allowed the perimeter defenders to fly around and get steals. The defensive pressure from the VADS lead to break away layups and eventually a 71-24 win over the One and Doner's. The VADS were up again as they faced Force Majeure. The two teams went back and forth the entire game and displayed great toughness on both ends. But, Force Majeure was able to pull out the 55-41 win. To conclude the night, the Ballers faced the Freedom Fighters. Both teams really took advantage of the inside game as they were working well with their post players and being able to find opportunities for dribble penetration. This made the game fun to watch and in the end, the Freedom Fighters found themselves with a 7 point victory.

7/17 games
Monday night kicked off with the game between the Freedom Fighters and Force Majeure. Force Majeure started out slow while the Freedom Fighters were able to pick up some momentum. Force Majeure would make runs at The Freedom Fighters, but the lead and the rhythm of the Freedom Fighters were too much and they were able to win with a score of 55-39. The second competition was between the VADS and the Ballers. The VADS had the hot hands when it came to outside shots, where the Ballers seemed to be successful with inside opportunities. The strong shots from the VADS allowed them to get a 14 point victory for the night. The final game was between the One and Doner's and the Toon Squad. The Toon Squad displayed great teamwork, but the One and Doner's found success in driving to the hoop. The dribble penetration allowed them to get a 63-42 point win over the One and Doner's.

7/24 games
This week started off with the Toon Squad playing against the Ballers. This game was close throughout the entire 40 min and was within one point for the majority of the second half. With 5 seconds left, the Toon Squad was up 39-38 and the Ballers had the possession. Although there was an opportunity, the Ballers couldn't get a shot up and the Toon Squad got the one point victory. Next up was Force Majeure against the One and Doner's. The One and Doner's started out hot and had the lead for the first part of the half. However, Force Majeure had a last second effort to end the half and it was crucial as this effort pushed them to be up 4 at the half. Force Majeure found their shots and continued their momentum into the second half and found themselves with a 20 point win at the end of the game. To end the night was the VADS against the Freedom Fighters. The VADS played a tough zone which forces turnovers, but the Freedom Fighters were able to keep their composure and handled the pressure well. The Freedom Fighters found most of their success in put backs and the score at the half was 35-29 in favor of the VADS. The VADS continued their pressure and were able to get the 69-54 win.

Force Majeure forfeited to Ballers.
7/31 games
This week got off to a slow start as the first scheduled game was not able to be played due to Force Majeure not showing up. They forfeited to the Ballers. The second game was between the One and Doner's and the Freedom Fighters. The One and Doner's found good shots in the first half, but just couldn't finish. The Freedom Fighters demonstrated excellent passes and were able to convert and because of this, they were up by 9 in the first half. The One and Doner's fought back in the beginning of the second half and were able to cut their deficit down to 5. They could not maintain this momentum and the Freedom Fighters were able to get the 44-33 win. The final game was between the VADS and the Toon Squad. The VADS were hot from the 3 point line, but the Toon Squad was able to remain patient and find open looks. Both teams went back and forth, but at the end of the half it was the VADS up by 5. In the second half, the Toon squad attacked the zone well and were dominant inside the paint. The Toon Squad found themselves in the end with the 63-55 victory.
