Summer 15 Thursday Coed Recreational Kickball @ Sunken Garden

It was a storm to remember. The rain stopped at 5:15pm and didn’t start back up again until 6:40 pm. That was just a big enough break to get two games in. MAN CRUSH was able to hold onto the win over LET’S GET WEIRD 8-6. In the other game, the NAKED TINKERS dominated the COLFAX DUMPSTER KITTIES 12-1. Right at 6:50 it started to pour and the other games were canceled.

There was a small squall in between games today. Right at the end of the first game, it started to downpour. It was raining so hard that it looked like that that would be the end of kickball for the day, but the sun came back out ten minutes later. It was a wet field, but the games were still played. The NAKED TINKERS won the first game 10-3 to remain undefeated. RED ON RED defeated TOTAL CARNAGE because TC didn’t have enough females playing to be a legal team.

LETS GET WEIRD got their first win of the season, defeating ACE OF 2ND BASE. In a defensive battle, MAN CRUSH narrowly lost to PITCH, PLEASE. PP still remains undefeated on the season. The MILE HIGH CLUB dominated BASES MAY NOT BE LOADED BUT WE ARE 13-1. The win has given MH a (2-0) record.

BALL BUSTIN defeated the COLFAX DUMPSTER KITTIES.

ACE OF 2ND BASE got their first win yesterday, taking down TOTAL CARNAGE. The win should really boost their morale, heading into the last two weeks of the regular season. TOTAL CARNAGE played a decent game but fell short. They are now (1-3) on the year.

The lowest scoring kickball game in history! LET’S GET WEIRD was able to squeak away with the victory over the COLFAX DUMPSTER KITTIES with a 1-0 win. The win has brought WEIRD to (2-3) on the season. The loss drops the KITTIES to (0-5). The KITTIES are going to have to play outstanding games if they are going to get a win this season. Their last two opponents are some of the league’s best.

In another low scoring contest, the NAKED TINKERS kept their perfect season alive with a 2-1 victory over MAN CRUSH. The TINKERS, now (5-0), will have their hands full next week as they take on the MILE HIGH CLUB. Both teams are undefeated! MAN CRUSH dropped to (2-2) with the loss.
The MILE HIGH CLUB defeated BALL BUSTIN’ 8-2. The win puts them at (3-0) and the loss puts BB at (2-2).

PITCH, PLEASE took on ACE OF 2ND BASE. It was 2nd BASES’ second game of the day. After a huge victory in their first game, they didn’t fare so well in their second. PITCH, PLEASE played a great game and got the win. They have improved to (4-0-1) on the year and are in 2nd place.

BASES MAY NOT BE LOADED BUT WE ARE won their first game of the year, defeating RED ON RED in a high scoring game. There must not have been much defense, because the final was 17-13! LOADED is now (1-2) on the season with plenty of more games to play. RED ON RED IS (2-2-1) and in 4th place.

Congratulations to PITCH, PLEASE for winning the regular season. It came down to the last week of the regular season. MILE HIGH CLUB did have the top spot, but were knocked off by LET’S GET WEIRD by one run. PITCH, PLEASE won their game to take the top spot at (6-0-1). The NAKED TINKERS also won their game to finish at (6-1) and in third place. Those are the top three teams in the league, all with 6 wins.

For their second game, MILE HIGH CLUB defeated BALL BUSTIN. It was also BALL BUSTIN’S second game of the night, because they just beat ACE OF 2ND BASE. ACE OF 2NED BASE then lost to PITCH, PLEASE. There were a lot of double headers.

What a day of kickball. We had 8 teams at the start of the day and finished with one champions. In the first quarterfinal game, the MILE HIGH CLUB took down ACE OF 2ND BASE in a good defensive batter. MILE HIGH was only held to five runs. But that would be enough as MILE HIGH didn’t let ACE OF 2ND BASE score.

In the second quarterfinal, the NAKED TINKERS got ahead early and never looked back. BALL BUSTIN’ was able to score some runs late, but they would fall 8-2.
PITCH PLEASE dominated BASES MAY NOT BE LOADED BUT WE ARE 19-2. The teams were a little uneven, with BMNBLBWA not having many players.

In the last quarterfinal, it was LET’S GET WEIRD getting past MAN CRUSH in a 5-4 close one. This was a well played matchup, by far the best game of the quarterfinals, exactly how a 4/5 matchup should be.

The NAKED TINKERS gave the MILE HIGH CLUB a run for their money. This was an intense low scoring game. It finally came down to the last inning with MILE HIGH prevailing and moving onto the championship with a 3-2 victory.

In the other semifinal it was PITCH, PLEASE beating LET’S GET WEIRD 5-1. With the win, PITCH, PLEASE had to travel from Curtis Park to Sunken Gardens for the championship.

The championship wasn’t as close as you would have expected. MILE HIGH CLUB got on a roll and scored eleven runs. The defending champions, PITCH, PLEASE couldn’t respond and ended up losing 11-4.
