Summer 2015 Tuesday Mens Recreational Basketball @ DU

Another night of basketball is in the books. In the first game of the night, TUNE SQUAD defeated the MATZAH SOUP BALLERS by ten. The win has evened their record at (1-1). The MSB has dropped to (0-2) and is at the bottom of the standings.

In the second game, EKS&H played a great game to dominate WE’RE TALKING ABOUT PRACTICE. EKS&H won by 24 points and have taken over the top spot in the standings. They are the only (2-0) team left in this early season. PRACTICE has dropped to (1-1) on the season and sits in 4th place.

The last game of the night ended up being a doozey. SHARK NATION was up for the task against powerhouse CHARLES OAKLEY’S FLAT TOP. It was a back and forth game throughout, but nobody could claim the win. It is the first tie of the season. Despite the great game by SHARK NATION, they are still only in 5th place. FLAT TOP is in second at (1-0-1).

CHARLES OAKLEY’S FLAT TOP got back on the winning side, defeating I’M TALKING ABOUT PRACTICE by a wide margin. The win has moved them to second place in the standings with a (2-1-1) record. Not the most impressive record, but it works. The loss has moved PRACTICE to fifth place with a (1-2-1) record.

EKS&H pulled out a squeaker over the MATZAH SOUP BALLERS. This was a great game played by the SOUP, and really showed the parity in the league. SOUP still hasn’t won a game, but only losing to the undefeated EKS&H is a big step forward. EKS&H better realize that they need to prepare for each team in this league.

EKS&H had to swing a double header. Their second foes were the TRIPE DOUBLE NO ASSISTS. TDNO just came over from the Thursday league and beat the highly touted CHARLES OAKLEY’S FLAT TOP in a close on last week. But they couldn’t do it against EKS&H. Even with it being their second game of the night, EKS&H was able to pull it off with a ten point victory. The Dirk was player of the game.

In the last game, TDNA had their second game of the night. They again fell short to SHARK NATION, losing by eleven. The loss has given them a (1-2) record. SHARK NATION isn’t a whole lot better at (1-2-1).

EKS&H escaped with the win. I’M TALKING ABOUT PRACTICE, the team with the worst record, almost stole a win from the top team. It went down to the wire until EKS&H put it away. Chad led the way and got player of the game honors. EKS&H is now (5-1) and PRACTICE is (1-4-1).

MATZAH SOUP BALLERS got closer to .500 with a win over the TUNE SQUAD. Both teams came into the game with pretty similar records, so it was bound to be a good game. Bryan J. led the way for the BALLERS. The BALLERS are now in third place and TUNE SQUAD is in fourth.

MATZAH SOUP BALLERS turned around to play their second game of the night against TIPLE, DOUBLE, NO ASSISTS. They must not have been that tired because they pulled off their second win of the night and evening their record at .500. TDNA dropped to sixth place with a (2-3) record.

CHARLES OAKLEY’S FLAT TOP couldn’t fill a squad for the late game, so they had to forfeit. SHARK NATION improved to (3-2-1) and is in second place.

The first rounds of playoffs are in the books. In the 4 vs 5 matchup, it was fifth seeded CHARLES OAKLEY’S FLAT TOP winning in a nail biter. TRIPLE DOUBLE, NO ASSISTS ended up on the short end of a well fought out game. FLAT TOP will advance to play EKS&H next week.

In the 3 vs 6 matchup, it was the three seeded MATZAH SOUP BALLERS defeating the TUNE SQUAD by six. This was also a low scoring battle. But SOUP proved to be the better team and will play number two ranked SHARK NATION in the second semifinal next week.
