Chef Curry Hangs On
Basketball was back for another week for the Sunday Competitive League. In the first game the GREG OSTERTAGS wasted little time with the HOOP DREAMS. They jumped out to an early lead, but the HOOP DREAMS still managed to keep it close. For most of the second half the GOs kept it at 15 points. Some late game three pointers from McGinnis brought them within ten points, but it was too little too late. The GO's won 62-53.

In the second game, the MEX-BALLERS brought their A-squad. Both teams rallied back and forth. It wasn't until late in the second half when CURRY SOUP got a lead by seven points. But once the MEX-BALLERS started to foul and put CS on the line, then they started to come back. CS couldn't hit many of their free throws. The BALLERS hit some shots to bring it back to a one possession game, but they ran out of time. Curry Soup won 49-46.

Greg Ostertags Stay on Top
The first place GREG OSTERTAGS took on undefeated CHEF CURRY’S SOUP. It was a good game between both unbeatens, but somebody had to lose. The GOs got up in the second half and wouldn’t back down. They finally won the game and took sole possession of first place. SOUP is now in second place with a (3-1) record.

The second game was actually more intense than the first one. HOOP DREAMS took on the MEX-BALLERS. Both teams played each other earlier in the season. That game ended with HOOP DREAMS winning 53-38. But since that first game, MEX-BALLERS have stacked up their roster, adding some talented players. It was a back and forth game throughout the contest, but the MEX-BALLERS were too hungry for their first win. They won 48-43. Both teams are (1-3).

Chef Curry's Soup Wins a Rumbler
CHEF CURRYS SOUP won their fourth game of the season over the MEX-BALLERS. Both teams always bring their A-game when they face each other. The first time they played, CURRYS SOUP won by three points. This game was just as close. The game became heated which resulted in multiple technicals. CURRYS SOUP took the lead and wouldn’t lose it; they finally won by ten points after the game was called with three minutes remaining.

In the second game, the GREG OSTERTAGS kept their unbeaten season alive with a 60-42 victory over the HOOP DREAMS. This game also had some drama in it, even though it wasn’t as close. The OSTERTAGS got a pretty big lead and wouldn’t relinquish it. The loss drops the HOOP DREAMS to (1-4). They are beating the MEX-BALLERS for third place because of their better point differential.

Mex-Ballers over Hoop Dreams
There was a mix-up with the schedule, but everyone played a game. Next week’s games were played today, so today’s games will be played next week. The MEX-BALLERS got their second win of the season, defeating HOOP DREAMS 56-48. The HOOP DREAMS look like they’re getting weary of their season, judging by how few of the players showed up. In the second game, the league leading GREG OSTERTAGS ate CHEF CURRYS SOUP for dinner. They were clicking on all cylinders to be able to win like that.

Mex-Ballers Win Big
The sun came out and melted all the rain! After a night of torrential rain, the field somehow dried off enough to be played on. Too bad two teams didn’t want to play. The semifinals were duds. RAWHIDE and SCARED HITLESS decided to end their seasons early, so they didn’t show up.

The championship was one of the greatest softball games every played! The game was back and forth throughout, but MILES was able to jump out to a nine-run lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. BLUE STEEL, the number one team, was up for the challenge. They strung together an unbelievable rally to score all nine runs and to force extra innings. It wasn’t until the bottom of the 10th inning that BLUE STEEL was able to score the winning run to win 25-24.

Congratulations to BLUE STEEL for winning the championship! They will be back for the Summer season that starts on Friday. Will they be able to win a 9 team league?

Greg Ostertags Win Championship
The Spring Sunday league is in the books! In the first semifinal game of the night, the number one seeded GREG OSTERTAGS took care of the HOOP DREAMS. It was a pretty close game for the most part. The HOOP DREAMS held around and only lost by ten points to finish their season. The GREG OSTERTAGS advanced to the championship.

In the other semifinal game, the MEX-BALLERS showed up with their A-squad to take on CHEF CURRYS SOUP. The MEX-BALLERS showed a lot of hustle with fast breaks and outstanding rebounding. They took care of SOUP 61-30 to advance to the finals.

In the championship, the GREG OSTERTAGS wouldn’t be denied. They continued on their winning ways, beating the MEX-BALLERS by 13. The GOs wouldn’t lose a game the whole season. It was truly a great season for them.

Thanks for playing, we will see everyone back in the Summer.
