Spring 15 Monday Mens Recreational @ DU

MEAT TREBUCHET won in ravenous style. They took down the fourth place FLINT TROPICS 49-19. The win has definitely put the x on their backs as the team to beat. They are now (6-1).
The other team that has emerged from the pack is the UNSULLIED. They were tested as they went against FOODS THAT START WITH Q, a regular power player in the league. The game was close, but the UNSULLIED won, bringing their record to (5-1). FOODS has stayed at third place with the loss.
P2 BALLERS beat the SUITS OF SMASH in a close game. Both teams are now (2-4) and at the bottom half of the standings.
DANCIN JENSEN won their game to stay in the hunt. They beat BRICK N HUSTLE. BNH is still looking for their first win of the season.

The playoffs are underway. The first game BRICK N HUSTLE didn’t show, so the BREWERS advanced to the quarter finals.

On the other side of the bracket, DANCIN JENSEN pulled out the upset over number two ranked UNSULLIED. This was a tough loss for the UNSULLIED. They were not expecting to be leaving the tournament this early. You have to give congratulations to DANCIN JENSEN for their overall play.

In the other quarter final, FOODS THAT START WITH Q took care of the FLINT TROPICS by ten points. This was a well played game; it was just time for the TROPICS to move on. If there’s anything we can learn from the first round, it’s that any team can play well enough to win any game.

It was championship night at the field house! In the first semifinal game, number one ranked MEAT TREBUCHET got an early lead on SUITS OF SMASH and never looked back. They had a double digit lead by halftime and expanded it later in the game. The SUITS did play a little better ball late in the game, but it was nowhere near enough. MEAT won 47-21 to advance to the chipper.

The second semifinal was a lot more exciting. FOODS THAT START WITH Q were looking to get over the hump this season, but they fell short again. The game was back and forth for the first half. DANCIN JANSEN took the lead going into halftime 28-25. In the second half, DANCIN JANSEN came out firing. They hit a lot of long range shots to take the lead and wouldn’t relinquish it. FOODS WITH Q fell 49-39.

With a nine minute rest, DANCIN JANSEN was back on the court for the championship against the well-rested MEAT TREBUCHET. Both teams traded baskets for the first quarter of the game. In the second quarter, MEAT TREBUCHET started to pull away. They got up by twelve points, when DANCIN JENSEN realized that they had to start making adjustments to get back in this game. And it worked; they eclipsed the twelve point deficit and retook the lead. The game went back and forth all the way until the four minute mark. It was here, when the hot shooting DANCIN JENSEN missed a few shots and MEAT TREBUCHET capitalized on it. They got up by only six points, but it felt like 16. The writing was on the wall; MEAT TREBUCHET would go on to win and take the crown.
