Game On
Lots of tough battles last night, just goes to prove that you need to come with the mindset to play, or you might just get caught off guard.
DUTCH MAFIA picked up right where they left off, beating KPMG by 11. KPMG is the third place team in the league, so DUTCH MAFIA looks like they are the team to beat.

GLASSWORKS defeated MIKEY’S MEN by four points for their second win of the season. MIKEY’S MEN are still looking for their first win.

GO BUFFS enforced the slaughter rule on JANUS 2. Booker took home player of the game honors. He played an extraordinary game, since he was the only player that received this recognition out of all three games.

FIRE!
Nobody Could Miss
The word of the day from last night was THREE! The usual suspects were hitting their shots, but there are a few newcomers you now have to be careful about leaving open.

Booker led the GO BUFFS over the GLASS WORKS in a fairly close game. With a lot of long three pointers being made, the score is one of the highest scores I’ve seen in the league. When teams are hitting like that, the defense can’t really do anything about it. The win has widened the gap between the BUFFS and GLASS for third and fourth place.

DUTCH MAFIA beat MIKEY’S MEN by twenty points. That’s what you would expect from a team that has been dominating the entire season. MIKEY’S MEN will try to get their first win when they take on JANUS 2 next week. Both teams are 0-6, so it should be a close one.

JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH took on JANUS 2 and it was a pretty good game. JESUS, second in the standings, was led by John. He played a great game, that lead JESUS to victory. JESUS picked up two wins yesterday with a KPMG forfeit.

The Comeback
The word for the day is CRUCIAL. Free Throws. Heart. Desire. Determination. Effort. Hustle. Drive.

MIKEY’S MEN and JANUS 2 squared off for one of the best games of the season. Both teams have had a tough season so far, neither of them has won a game. This game was great. Both teams played tough, neither of them giving in. It took the complete 40 minutes to determine that JANUS 2 would take the victory 44-42.

In the powerhouse matchup, DUTCH MAFIA would take on JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH. This game also was very intense. The 40 minutes would not be enough time to determine a winner. The game would end in a tie, 60-60. Brandon S. would take the player of the game honors.

It was the DUTCH MAFIA’S turn to play a double header, and it wasn’t favorable. It looked like they used up too much energy in their first game. The GO BUFFS took advantage of the situation and won 59-54. The win slid them into third place, right behind DUTCH MAFIA and JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH.

This is going to be a great playoff!

Forfeits Galore
It was the quarterfinal night for the playoffs, but it wasn’t very eventful. It looks like more people opted to watch LeBron and Steph than to play themselves. GLASSWORKS only had three people show up, but they still managed to defeat KPMG 48-28. MIKEY’S MEN couldn’t get enough players together, so they forfeited to JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH. JANUS 2 couldn’t round up players, so they forfeited to GO BUFFS. Next week should be a lot more exciting, as it’s championship night!

The Final Four
Never Say Die
It was a great Final Four night. In the first semifinal, number one seeded DUTCH MAFIA took down GLASS WORK. Andy Draayer was the player of the game with a strong defensive and offensive performance. He led the DUTCH MAFIA to a 65-51 victory to advance to the championship game.

In the second semifinal, number two ranked JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH beat the GO BUFFS. Chad Shipley led JESUS to the Promised Land. He had a heck of a game, scoring and dishing like nobody’s business. JESUS ended up winning by 12.

The championship was all set with the two best teams in the league. There weren’t any Cinderella upsets to get here; these two teams had been fighting for the top spot throughout the season. They only played each other once during the regular season, and that ended in a 60-60 tie. Luke K. led the way with deadly outside shooting and strong drives to the basket. But would it be enough? It took all 40 minutes before we could safely say that JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH was going to end the game with more points than the DUTCH MAFIA.

Congratulations to JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH for winning it all! But can they repeat?
